Oh Sundays. Grocery stores, farmer’s markets, meal prep. I LOVE IT ALL. But I didn’t love it today.
It was nearly 75º outside and after the monsoon over the last two weeks, EVERYBODY was at the beach. It was like July 4th weekend out there and I wasn’t about to miss it for some onions. So for the first time in months, I skipped the farmer’s market. This is a big deal. I was the only person that went to the market during the monsoon. But after coming away with only an apple and some wear in my rainboots, I was over it.
So I went to Ralph’s and Whole Foods as quickly as possible, got home, and immediately went to the beach. It was lovely. This has been a tumultuous week and I was in desperate need of some R&R. Sitting on the beach with a book was the perfect remedy. I even got a little tan line! The tan’s only on the left half of my body but whatever. It’s January so any tan line is a win.
Continuing with the R&R theme of the day, I took the longest shower of my life. This is also a big deal. I’m wash my hair like once a week and shave my legs even less often. I know. I’m disgusting. It’s also January and I wear leggings every day. Bite me. But I’m happy to report that I did both of those things today. I feel like a new person. Maybe I’ll do this more often. Probably not though, let’s be real.
My meals were pretty simple today. I’ve deemed Sundays to be “clear out the fridge day”. So it was lots of randomness and leftovers, but it worked. I also love salad, if you haven’t noticed.
Meal 1: turkey zucchini meatballs, purple sweet potato, grapefruit, and bone broth veggies
Snack: yellow squash soup (plus a slice of deli turkey from true story foods)
Meal 2: mixed greens with crock pot chicken, avocado, red onion, mushroom, and cinnamon roasted tahitian squash with a balsamic dressing
Meal 3: chicken turmeric curry soup with steamed broccoli
