Wow, I can’t believe the month is two thirds over! Whole30 eating feels completely normal now. I honestly don’t even think about it. They say it takes three weeks to make or break a habit, so I guess we’re right on track.
I don’t have much to say today. If you pay attention to anything at all, you’ve probably noticed the massive protesting going on across the world. This has nothing to do with Whole30, except maybe pack a larabar if you’re protesting? But today was an important day. I was proud to be part of the 750,000 people marching in Los Angeles and I was even more proud to see that 2.5 million people across the country marched in solidarity. I’m not sure how many people marched worldwide, but there were people in Antarctica protesting, so it’s gotta be a lot.
But this is only day one. We have to keep marching. We have to keep the fight alive and the energy flowing. Shit is gonna hit the fan. It’s going to be bad. In the words of my former boss, the dark days are coming. And I’m trying to believe that we’ll come out on the other side of these four years without irreparable damage. But it’s not always easy to believe that. Watch the White House press conference from this afternoon. Even though I laughed, it’s one example of small changes in Trump’s America. Enough of those small changes and we become Russia. Think about it. Take note. Here’s some pictures of salad.
Meal 1: chicken sausage (from true story foods), half a purple sweet potato, and lots of greens sautéed in ghee
Meal 2: warm kale salad with chicken, roasted veggies (cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, butternut squash, beets, yellow squash), and a homemade balsamic dressing
Snack: apple with lots of almond butter (bc anxiety)
Meal 3: another salad to clear the fridge: romaine, tomatoes, mushroom, red onion, celery, tuna salad, and dijon
